Enjoy Duas Quintas’ Private Gardens and Grounds

Once a thriving fruit farm, Duas Quintas has over 100 orange trees as well as plum, lemon, olive and fig trees. The farm is currently being replanted and this year should see the number return to its original figure.

It is a bird lover’s paradise with storks, hoopies, swallows and buzzards all around. Wildflowers abound in the springtime, and even in the heat of summer the valley remains green and refreshing.

Close to the guest house, the gardens have been developed, with areas for sitting and relaxing. Relax at the old farm tank, now a water feature and feed the fish or sit in the shade of the old fig tree.

Further from the house, the area is gradually being restored. Wander through the orange and lemon trees, enjoying the sights and smells of rural Portugal
